Swedish sofa designed by Axel Larsson for Bodafors, 1940s. The term "Swedish Modern" quickly became established as a reinterpretation of the modern style of the 1940s, where functionalism was replaced by a freer, more artistic ideal. Swedish Modern furniture is popular because it responds both to our penchant for clean, uncluttered spaces and our desire to live in welcoming, comfortable environments.
