A very beautiful signed bronze cloisonné enamel sculpture depicting Toba on his mule, en route to Hainan Island, with his poetry scroll in his hands. Toba was a calligrapher and a deserving poet, very well represented here. Japan, Meiji period, 1868-1912, signature to be determined. It has a lovely antique patina with a beautiful palette of cloisonné enamel colors. Dimensions: 37 cm high, 31 cm long, and 15 cm thick. A visually stunning antique piece! Of very high quality and highly decorative!
