Composition 25-015 - Jérôme Lefebvre Deram
Composition 25-015 - Jérôme Lefebvre Deram.
This painting is built around ultramarine blue, the color of depth, the spiritual, and the celestial. The painting evokes an inner space, situated between sky, night, and meditation, and is part of a quest for elevation rather than representation.
Created in successive layers, the surface unfolds with great visual depth. The palette knife technique creates a dense, textured, and vibrant material, where an ordered chaos takes hold, structured by the rhythm of the gesture. The material captures the light and reveals subtle variations of blue, showcasing a painting in motion, constantly changing depending on the viewer's perspective and the lighting.
The dominant ultramarine blue, intensified by the varnish, accentuates the sensation of depth, almost abyssal. Touches of silver appear like moonbeams in a night sky. They introduce a breath, a moment of suspension in the composition, offering luminous points of reference within the chromatic density.
The work remains intentionally open, without an imposed narrative. It invites the viewer to feel rather than understand, to project their own relationship to silence, to infinity, and to the sacred, in an experience of slow, introspective contemplation.
Dimensions: 100 x 100 cm.
The Artist:
Jérôme Lefebvre Deram was born in Dunkirk in 1982 and works in Northern France.
After studying law, he worked for several years in politics before entering the seminary, first in Italy, then in France, where he spent five years. Returning to civilian life, he continues his quest for meaning, unity, and transcendence through painting.
Behind this journey, one glimpses a complex man, rich in profound intellectual and human experience, who combines rational thought with an intense personal and spiritual quest. His work embodies a search for truth, a balance between intuition and reflection, and an exploration of human dualities, between shadow and light, chaos and order. Influenced by Impressionism, Abstract Expressionism, and Lyrical Abstraction, Jérôme Lefebvre Deram's work continues in the tradition of these movements, allowing him to translate this intimate and powerful experience into the interplay of color, gesture, and material as a vehicle for profound emotions and meanings. His paintings become, for the viewer, a subject for reflection, meditation, and contemplation.
