Louis XVI Period Commode With Projecting Front

A slightly projecting commode veneered in rosewood marquetry, inlaid with quatrefoils within Greek key borders adorned with ribbons. It opens to reveal five drawers in three rows, two of which are without a central rail. The rounded uprights are inlaid with false fluting. It has tapered legs and a molded, molded gray St. Anne marble top with molded edges. Stamped J. STUMPFF, Jean Chrysostome Stumpff, Master, 1766. Louis XVI period, 18th century
