Traditional Lorraine costume in bronze. This bust presents an impressively realistic face, both nonchalant and emblematic. Topped with a headdress, the face's balance is enhanced by braided hair. The traditional garment rests on a ribboned shawl raised on a collar, adorned, of course, with a necklace representing the Cross of Lorraine. The triangular, grooved back suggests that it was originally part of a decorative setting. The trapezoidal base elevates an otherwise understated plinth. It bears the inscription: LORRAINE.
