A Japanese six-panel folding screen painted on a gold-leaf ground, depicting two mandarin ducks (oshidori) resting on the bank of a stream, within an early spring landscape featuring flowering plum (ume) branches still covered with snow.
A bird in flight animates the upper section of the screen.
The screen is embellished with elegant silk borders and completed with a lacquered wooden frame.
Period: Taishō period, circa 1920
Dimensions: 107 × 276 cm
Condition: The screen is in good condition. Minor wear, small holes, or paper imperfections consistent with age are present. The lacquered frame shows slight signs of wear.
