Paul Pujol was an architect, painter, and watercolorist, born in Toulouse and likely died in Paris. He was a celebrated figure in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and frequently contributed to the construction and decoration of numerous official buildings. The watercolor presented here depicts the bustling activity on the banks of the Seine not far from the Conciergerie. It is dated and signed in the lower right corner. A stamp is affixed in the lower left corner of the work.
