Small Ash Chest Of Drawers – Late 19th Century
This 19th-century chest of drawers, crafted from solid ash and ash burl veneer, is a rare piece of furniture due to its small size. The top, made of tightly joined planks, is molded around the perimeter and features chamfered corners at the front. It opens with four identical drawers, each fitted with a key and round, chiseled brass escutcheons. The locks are functional. The uprights of this chest of drawers are chamfered. The whole rests on a wide, projecting plinth, terminating in broad, molded feet. The simple yet elegant design highlights the ash grain, making this chest of drawers a functional addition to a classic or modern interior. *******Period: Waxed finish. Excellent condition.
