"History of France since the Establishment of the French Monarchy in Gaul." Work dedicated to the King, by Father Daniel, of the Company of Jesus, second edition, revised and corrected and augmented by the author, and enriched with several authentic medals. Amsterdam, at the expense of the Company, this beautiful illustrated copy is bound in fine mottled glazed calf, spine with raised bands decorated with gilt tooling in the compartments, red and olive morocco titles and volume numbers, marbled endpapers, red edges: frontispiece by Verdier, engraved by BP in 1720, and two-color vignette titles
