Two-pronged Spear Fork, Dolphin Head Handle, 17th Century. Tableware, Folk Art.
A skewering fork.
The sinuous handle, engraved with scrolling foliage and ending in a heraldic dolphin's head, is made of very hard wood.
It has a beautiful patina.
The finger position follows the sinuous shape.
The two-pronged fork is forged from a single piece of wood.
There are very slight cracks on each side of the handle (due to the wood's natural movement over time).
17th century.
Good condition.
