Stained Glass Windows With Exotic Birds

A pair of stained-glass windows painted in grisaille and enamels, one depicting parrots, including cockatoos, perched on a palm tree and sweet peas, and the other a pair of exotic birds also perched. The whole is framed by red and blue glass, traditionally set in lead. The enamels are remarkably fresh. It is signed lower right: H. Curcier, 19 rue Vital-Carles. François Henri Curcier (1868-1919) was a master glassmaker from Bordeaux. The black wood frames are in perfect condition. They have been completely reassembled in lead using traditional methods. Dimensions: Each stained-glass window measures 182cm high by 48cm wide.
