Manolo Ruiz-Pipo was born in 1929 in Granada. His father disappeared, abducted during the Spanish Civil War in 1936.

He received artistic training in Barcelona from 1942 to 1954, then won a scholarship to attend the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He studied the works of Georges de La Tour at the Louvre Museum and met Pablo Picasso, who introduced him to the Jeanne Castel Gallery, which exhibited his work in 1955. He made several trips to England between 1958 and 1962.

Settling in Paris and Bonaguil in 1963, he married Sophie, with whom he had four children.

His first Italian exhibition took place in 1966. From 1968 to 1970, Ruiz-Pipó divided his time between France, Italy, and the Netherlands, where he studied Rembrandt and Vermeer.

He made several trips to Australia from 1971 to 1973. He returned to Paris in 1975, lived in Chartres from 1979 to 1983 and in Lot-et-Garonne in 1985.

Ruiz-Pipó signed a contract from 1990 to 1995 with the Bailly gallery in Paris, where he exhibited in 1990, 1991 and 1993.

Manolo Ruiz-Pipó painted genre scenes, still lifes, nudes, bullfights, maternity scenes, portraits and produced lithographs, notably erotic mythological scenes for the collection Eros Minos published by the Bailly gallery in 1991.
He died in September 1998 in his home in Saint-Romain-le-Noble.
