Louis XV Period Black Lacquered Flat Desk, c. 1740–1750
Description:
An elegant and decorative black lacquered flat desk, standing on gracefully curved legs. It features three drawers in the front apron, with refined gilt decoration simulating bronze drops.
The top is framed by a gilt border imitating a bronze gallery, and is covered with a rich patinated red leather inlaid with black leather, the whole adorned with gilt tooling, executed by our master craftsman Gainier.
