"French School, Early 19th Century, Portrait Of A Little Girl With A Coral Necklace - Empire Period"
Early 19th-century French School portrait of a child, a very graceful little girl with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing an Empire-style muslin dress and a coral necklace. The girl's hair is still styled in the Empire fashion, her curls pulled up in an updo. The painting is presented in its beautiful and richly gilded frame. Empire/Restoration period, circa 1820. The painting is unsigned but the work of a skilled painter. Great care has been taken with the hair (the lock over the ear, the chignon at the top of the head). The girl is pretty, with delicate features and very expressive eyes, showing a strong character. A lovely portrait for collectors, ideal for complementing a collection of early 19th-century Neoclassical furniture. It is in excellent condition: the painting has been cleaned, is on its original canvas, and is in its original gilded frame, restored by our gilder. Frame: 54cm x 62.3cm Canvas: 40.5cm x 51.5cm
