This exceptional piece was designed in the 1950s by the renowned architect and designer Jean Prouvé for the Cansado mining town in Mauritania; it is the SCAL 452 model. This daybed consists of four cylindrical steel legs, a frame made of folded sheet steel, two ash wood end panels, and a foam mattress. It is in good condition and has been restored; the metal frame has been repainted, and the foam mattress has been replaced.
