Pomellato – 925 Sterling Silver Tea Set, Italy, 1985. Description: This Italian-designed tea set, created by Pomellato in 1985, is made of 925 sterling silver with coral-colored Bakelite handles. The set comprises a large rectangular tray for the teapot and its infuser, and a separate tray for the covered creamer and sugar bowl. This model is part of the permanent collection of the Museo dell'Argento Contemporaneo in Pavia and is illustrated in TF Giacobone's reference work on 20th-century Italian silver (Electa, 1993, p. 142). It is a representative example of Italian production from the 1980s, at the crossroads of silversmithing and design.
