19th Century Surgical Instrument Box.
A wooden box containing surgical instruments, dating from the late 19th century. It comprises a pair of scissors (14 cm), a double extraction hook (16 cm), and six scalpels of various shapes (16.5 cm) with ebony handles. All the instruments are marked 'Bataille'. The box itself is in fairly good condition, though one of the closure hooks is missing.
