Mauro Manetti (born in 1946) Owl-shaped ice bucket. 1970s, made of silver-plated cast aluminum with a slightly golden patina, this piece combines functionality and sculptural design. Productions made after the 1960s have a white resin interior (instead of metal). Stamped MM on the reverse and Made in Italy. The highly inspired designer Mauro Manetti surprises us with his bestiary combined with botanical designs; these pieces add a touch of originality and elegance to your gatherings. Mauro Manetti is an Italian foundryman and sculptor known for his decorative and utilitarian art objects from the 1950s to the 1970s, made of silvered or gilded tin. His art foundry was located in Florence (Fonderia D'arte Firenze). A graduate in architecture from the University of Florence in 1970, he began his career working for design agencies and furniture manufacturers in Italy. He then founded his own design studio in 1977. He has won numerous prestigious awards for his creations, including the Compasso d'Oro in 1987 and 1994. His works are exhibited in museums worldwide, such as the MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Mauro Manetti is considered one of the most important Italian designers of his generation, with an innovative and creative approach to design that has influenced many professionals in the field.
