"percey Bell Tower" Signed Robert Blot And Dated 1942, Oil On Panel

Oil on cardboard, signed lower right Robert Blot, annotated on the reverse upper right "Salon 1942" and "The Bell Tower of Percey" (Burgundy). This work depicts the entrance to a church and its bell tower, with a car parked in the village square in the foreground. Robert Blot was a French artist, a landscape painter and member of the Société des Artistes Français. He exhibited at the Salon from 1907 and then hors concours in the 1930s. Many of his works are held in museums such as the Musée du Luxembourg and the Musée d'Orsay. This painting, with its balanced composition and warm tones, is presented in a gilt and black patinated wooden frame.
