Louis XIV Valances

Louis XIV valances, Florentine or Roman manufacture, early 18th century.

Gilded wood.

Measurements: cm. 84 x 290, cm. 84 x 260.

The three Louis XIV style valances, of the finest quality, were made in Central Italy, probably in Florence or Rome. In the center is a Greek mask surrounded by feathers and surmounted by a comb shell; every detail is elegantly decorated with festoons of flowers and fruit.
