Bronze composition "Ibis Chasing Frogs" by the renowned 19th-century French sculptor Auguste Nicolas Cain (1822-1894). Auguste Nicolas Cain achieved great mastery and expressiveness in animal sculpture. His most important work is the monument to Duke Charles of Brunswick, erected in Geneva in 1879: a magnificent structure crowned by a bronze equestrian statue of the Duke and decorated with colossal figures of two lions and two griffins in red marble. Other famous works by Auguste Nicolas Cain include the bronze compositions Lion and Lioness (1854) in Odessa, Tiger Trampling a Crocodile (1873) and Two Lions Attacking a Boar (1882) in the Tuileries Garden, Nubian Lion and its Prey (1870) in the Luxembourg Garden, and others.
