Monumental oil on canvas depicting the Château de Maintenon in its original gilt and patinated wooden frame. Signed by Charles Hippolyte André. Several exhibition labels on the back. Exceptional dimensions, especially its frame. Very decorative. ANDRE (Charles-Hippolyte), painter, born in Paris, 19th century. He went to Pont-Aven (Finistère), where he painted some very attractive landscapes that were exhibited at the Salons from 1877 to 1897. In 1913, he exhibited a view of Monaco at the Salon des Artistes Français.
