Material and Technique: The flask is made of terracotta with a partial lead glaze, characterized by decorative green and brown/red spots on a beige/yellow background.
Function: Its distinctive shape, usually flattened or donut-shaped, and the presence of "ears" (handles) allowed for the passage of a rope for easier transport by hand or on carts.
Origin: Similar objects were common in various Italian ceramic factories, including those in Tuscany and Emilia, and production continued over the centuries, often with varying decorations.
Beautiful patina, signs of age.
