"Small Directoire Dining Table In Solid Mahogany For A Parisian Apartment - Late 18th Century"
Small solid mahogany dining table from the Directoire period, late 18th century. Parisian work from the 1790s. A beautiful, high-quality piece with tapered legs and a rounded top. The legs and top are made of solid mahogany, not veneer, with a pegged structure and an oak frame—all evidence of its age and quality. Oval in shape, almost round when closed, the drop leaves allow it to be stored against a wall. Fully extended, it can seat six people, or four comfortably. This is a small table, a rare size and particularly well-suited to a Parisian apartment. A beautiful, meticulously crafted table, but not too large. Our table is in perfect condition. The French polish has been completely redone by our cabinetmaker and is superb. There are no chips or cracks in the mahogany. Length: 144cm Width: 127cm Height: 70.5cm
