Rectangular Rattan And Ceramic Table By Audoux-minnet, Circa 1950

Artist: Audoux Minnet
Charming rectangular table with a natural rattan structure, attributed to Adrien Audoux and Frida Minnet, iconic French designers of the 1950s, renowned for their craftsmanship and innovative use of warm, raw materials. The top is made of an elegant assembly of rattan rods arranged in a checkerboard pattern, punctuated by red ceramic tiles with a stylized decoration, bringing a vibrant touch of color and contrast. The oblique legs, also in rattan, are connected by fine ligatures and adorned with decorative crosspieces in woven rattan, reinforcing both the stability and the typical aesthetic of the Audoux-Minnet duo. A fine example of post-war French design furniture, combining rusticity, modernity, and refinement.
