"Vases In Portoro Marble And Gilded Bronzes Napoleon III"
A beautiful pair of Portoro marble vases embellished with gilded bronze finishes. The vases feature two handles on the sides with satyr heads whose horns are two intertwined serpents. Festoons extend from the handles and intersect at the center of the vase, adding an even more ornate touch. Simulating the function of a traditional vase, finely chiseled and gilded bronze flowers adorn the top. The vases' style, undoubtedly French, suggests a historical context between the reigns of Louis-Philippe and Napoleon III.
