A late 18th-century Iranian wootz Damascus steel blade. The blade is adorned with fine engravings from the ricasso to its midpoint, partially raised in gold on the back. There is a slight imperfection on the right side of the guard, forming a small hole. It comes with its original sheath made of thin leather covered in shagreen, the outermost layer of which is missing from the upper part. Iran, late 18th century. Overall length 26 cm. Handle length 9.2 cm. Blade length 14.7 cm.
