Pair of silver-lined seals in need of restoration, hallmarked *"C. Balaine n°91 faubourg du temple" Paris circa 1830, early 19th century. The body, in the shape of a Medici vase, is encircled by a gadrooned frieze and adorned with two movable handles held by lion's heads. Original silver lining in very good condition. *Charles Balaine, registered in 1827, was a silversmith specializing in silver-lined seals, active in Paris on rue du Faubourg du Temple between 1827 and 1844.
