19th Century Military Justice Senior Officer's Sword. Brass hilt with a globular pommel surmounted by a rivet button. The guard has a thin single branch on the right side. Rare: Inverted folding guard (left-handed sword). It is decorated with a fasces and axe surrounded by a wreath of olive and oak leaves against a background of a trophy of six flags. The counter-guard is fixed and smooth. Leather grip with wire wrapping. The 80.5 cm straight blade is lozenge-shaped with two fullers and has a black patina with oxidation spots. Overall length 90.5 cm. No scabbard.
