"Cradle Medal, Virgin And Child, Miniature On Ivory, 19th Century"
Polychrome miniature on ivory depicting a bust of the Virgin and Child as a young, beautiful woman, made up and holding a young child in her arms; they are dressed in shimmering garments. Silver highlights emphasize the halos. Ivory frame, back, and handle ring; the miniature is protected by glass. Late 19th or very early 20th century. The artist signed with his monogram "PM". Diameter 6 cm – height 9 cm – thickness 1 cm
