"Citizen Factory Clock From The 1950s, Industrial System"
Citizen Factory Clock from the 1950s, a Memory of Working Time ???? This 1950s Citizen wall clock is a direct witness to the golden age of post-war industry. Produced during a period of intense reconstruction and modernization, it belonged to a centralized system of factory clocks, designed to synchronize working time within workshops, factories, and industrial buildings. In those days, time wasn't decorative: it was functional, collective, and rigorous. This clock, known as a "slave" clock, received its impulse from a master clock and displayed a perfectly uniform time, shared by all. It marked the rhythm of the days, breaks, and shift changes—a true silent backbone of working-class life. ???? Today, this piece has been converted to operate independently, while retaining its original mechanism, dial, and spirit. It continues to tell the time with the same understated elegance, but has left the factory to enter the domestic sphere, imbued with its history. Its patinated metal case, in the green-grey hue typical of 1950s industrial equipment, bears the natural marks of time and use. The white dial, exceptionally legible, features large black numerals and graphic hands, designed for quick reading, even from a distance. Hung on the wall, it immediately evokes post-war workshops, production lines, technical schools, or industrial halls. It naturally finds its place in an industrial, brutalist, or minimalist interior, but works equally well as a statement piece in a more contemporary setting. The battery is included: the clock is ready to go as soon as it's installed, continuing its primary role—measuring time with authority and silence. Dimensions: Diameter: 22 cm, Depth: 7 cm Price: €160. An authentic piece, ideal for lovers of 1950s industrial design, workshop furniture, and objects imbued with history. #factoryclock #1950sclock #citizen1950 #industrialclock #industrialdesign #workshopobject #workingtime #industrialclock #factoryclock #vintageclock #brutaliststyle #industrialdecor #patinaobject #loftinterior #industrialmemory #antiqueclock #proantic #selency #etsydecor #ebayvintage #characterfulobject #slowdecor #authenticdesign #industrialcollection
