A Louis XV style bombé commode in marquetry and gilt bronze.
This beautiful Louis XV style bombé commode, opening with three drawers in a serpentine front, is crafted from veneered wood with chevron marquetry, highlighted by light stringing forming an elegant frame. It is richly adorned with finely chased gilt bronze mounts, including foliate handles, shaped keyhole escutcheons, corner mounts and sabots, as well as a prominent central bronze on the lower rail. The top is made of light veined marble. The meticulous cabinetmaking, harmonious proportions, and refined decoration make this commode an ideal piece for a classic, bourgeois, or eclectic interior.
Period: late 19th – early 20th century.

Condition: very good overall condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with age.
