"The Departure Of The Boats, Brittany, Douarnenez, By Carl Moser, 1928"
A beautiful color wood engraving by the Austrian artist Carl Moser, signed and dated 1928, numbered 65 in the plate at the bottom left. Having settled in France in 1901, he frequented southern Brittany, and particularly Douarnenez, on several occasions, where he met Henri Rivière. He developed the technique of color wood engraving, inspired by Japanese prints.
