"Large White Porcelain Foo Dog From The Kangxi Period In China "
Chinese porcelain incense holder sculpture, known as "white China," from the Dehua kilns, Kangxi period, 17th century. Depicts a male guardian lion or Foo dog seated on a large rectangular base. The glaze is characteristic of early white China porcelain, slightly crackled and taking on amber-beige hues. Patina from use is present on the reverse. There are minor imperfections and losses, particularly in the ribbons surrounding the animal, as well as in the incense holder and ornaments. There are original cracks and small firing fissures. Interesting due to its large size and age. All questions welcome. Careful shipping.
