Italian Carved and Giltwood Mirror, Mid-18th Century (circa 1750-1760)
A refined and elegant carved, pierced, and giltwood mirror, gilded with gold leaf. Its intricate decoration features intertwined ribbons, acanthus leaves, and garlands of roses. The pediment is adorned with foliage and a bursting pomegranate motif, while the base is accented with goat’s-foot supports.
This mirror, a testament to Italian craftsmanship of the mid-18th century (circa 1750-1760), originates from a palace in Ponzano.
