Watercolor by François Rivoire (1842-1919) depicting flowers in a magnificent original gilt stucco frame. François Rivoire was born on April 16, 1842, in Lyon. A watercolorist and pastelist, he was a student of Jean-Marie Régnier and exhibited at the Salon from 1866 onwards, later becoming a member of the Société des Artistes Français. He received an honorable mention in 1883, a third-class medal in 1886, a gold medal at the 1894 Universal Exhibition, and a bronze medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Museum of Fine Arts, Reims.
