Milan Todd (1922-2018), Flamingos Feeding in a Tropical Rainforest, acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, (framed: 190x210). Born in Yugoslavia in 1922, Todd studied in Paris under Marc Chagall from 1945 to 1948 and studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade from 1948 to 1949, arriving in Melbourne in 1950. He held his first solo exhibition in 1968, followed by exhibitions in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, and Melbourne, and internationally in Yugoslavia and the United States. He is known for his colorful and exotic naive-style paintings of birds and the environment.
