Note: This could be the Portrait of Mademoiselle L..., exhibited at the Union Artistique de Toulouse in the Salle des Illustres at the Capitole in 1891 under number 509. Subsequently, primarily known as a draftsman, caricaturist, and poster artist, Roedel only submitted works on paper to the Salon. Our painting appears to be the only known oil on canvas by this artist. It could also be a portrait of La Goulue, whose portrait he is known to have painted in 1885.
