Pair Of Mid-century Brutalist Iron - Murano Glass Wall Lights, 1960s
A pair of expressive, Brutalist wall sconces made of patinated iron with thermoformed Murano glass shades.
The rectangular base plate, on which the Murano glass rests, has a wavy edge all around. Two metal strips are loosely attached to either side of this central piece, with an extended corner on each side.
This handcrafted strip measures between 2.0 and 4.5 cm wide.
The narrower section has a slight depression on its surface, while the wider section is ribbed. The textured, wavy Murano glass shade, containing air bubbles, is attached with two large iron screws.
Striking wall sconces with a linear design and structured surfaces; the tension created by the combination of materials is also extremely interesting.
