A superb Empire period gilt bronze clock, richly ornamented and in excellent condition. The clock displays remarkable chasing quality, with very well-preserved original gilding. On the simple top is an Empire-style rosette flanked by an arch and a torch. The bas-relief on the base depicts two putti (cherubs) in a decorative scene typical of early 19th-century Neoclassical iconography. The movement is complete but needs servicing.
