Son of Florentine sculptor Ugo Cipriani, 1987–1960, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and became involved in the Art Deco movement of the 1920s and 1930s. He fled fascism and took refuge in France in 1935. He worked magnificently in bronze, marble, alabaster, terracotta, and chryselephantine.
