A recent bronze sculpture in very good condition, with a light brown patina. The embrace of horses is a highly decorative subject that has been revisited by various sculptors; here, it displays great gentleness and balance.
The work presented is after Antoine-Louis Barye (1796-1875) and Charles Valton (1851-1918), a student of A.L. Barye and E. Frémiet.
The base is signed A. Barye in relief and CH. Valton in relief.
The foundry's monogram, FBL for Fonderie de Bronze Lauragaise, is also present.
This foundry, still in operation, was established in 1979. This work is listed in its catalogue. Weight: approximately 20 kg
