"Emile Just Bachelet For Henriot Quimper, Fisherman Of Douarnenez In Earthenware, 1930"
A beautiful representation of the Douarnenez fisherman, a model created in 1930 by Emile Just Bachelet. Produced by the Henriot earthenware factory in Quimper. This version features slightly different colors from the classic, standard model. It should be noted that the inscription "PB3O4" appears underneath, corresponding to lead oxide, so it is likely that this piece was a color trial. Good condition, with a small chip at the base (see photo). (There is another chip that occurred before glazing, which supports the hypothesis that this is a trial piece). Base dimensions: 14.5 x 10 cm. Signed underneath: Henriot Quimper 138. On the side of the base is the monogram EJB for Emile Just Bachelet. A similar model is on display at the Musée de Bretagne in Rennes.
