"Charles Virion Ceramic Cat Rambervillers"
A rare ceramic cat from Ramberviller, a model attributed to Charles Virion. Like all of Virion's cats, this one bears no markings (a few traces of an inscription on the reverse, barely legible). Early 20th century. The sulphide eyes give it a striking presence. The beige glaze with brown drips is typical of Ramberviller production. This model is featured in Francine Bertrand's catalogue on page 97 and in the catalogue of the 2009 exhibition on page 44. It is then attributed to Charles Virion. Very good condition.
