- Ink drawing by the French Romantic painter Léon Cogniet, born August 29, 1794 in Paris and died November 20, 1880. - Beautiful Romantic drawing, crease mark in the lower left. - Annotated "Souvenir Bourg d'Ault, pays de la Baie de Somme" (Souvenir of Bourg d'Ault, Somme Bay region). Monogrammed LC in the lower right. - A student of Pierre Narcisse Guérin, he met and was friends with Eugène Delacroix and Théodore Géricault. - Prix de Rome with "Hélène délivrée par Castor et Pollux" (Helen Delivered by Castor and Pollux) in 1817. - Resident of the French Academy in Rome from 1817 to 1822. - Museums: Toulouse Musée des Augustins, London Wallace, Paris Musée du Louvre.
