Magnificent Basque hunting dagger from the Louis XV period. Bone handle inlaid with silver medallions. Leather scabbard with a silver top inscribed "Deffez à Bayonne" (needs reattaching). The scabbard is open along the edge for 5 cm due to wear. Beautiful chiseled, engraved, gilded, and blued blade. Total length 76 cm, blade only 56.5 cm.
