Superb Boulle marquetry cartel clock (red tortoiseshell and brass), from the Napoleon III period, richly adorned with finely chased and gilded bronze mounts. The case and its base feature an abundant decoration of scrolls, foliage, mascarons, and symmetrical motifs typical of the Louis XIV style revisited in the 19th century. The clock comes with its gilt bronze "sunburst" pendulum, a sought-after model. It rests on four sculpted bronze feet and opens via a hinged rear panel. Movement: • Original movement visible on the back, • Striking bell, • Anchor escapement, • Removable back door with Boulle marquetry interior.
