An antique Chinese porcelain famille rose vase decorated with elegant figural and phoenix scenes, dating to the late Qing dynasty, Guangxu period (c. 1880–1900).
The vase is finely enamelled with a court lady riding a phoenix among swirling clouds, symbolising high rank, virtue, and auspicious blessings. Below, another lady stands in a garden landscape holding a flute, surrounded by bamboo, flowering plants, and rockwork. The soft palette of greens, pinks, iron red and turquoise is characteristic of late 19th-century fencai (famille rose) enamelling.
The porcelain body has a graceful waisted form with a flared rim. The base is glazed with an unglazed footrim typical of Guangxu period production.
Good condition.
Height: 24 cm
