Reliquary With The Image Of Saint Clare - 18th Century
Made of silvered brass, our reliquary is adorned with a silver figure, likely representing Saint Clare. In her hand, in a mise en abyme, she holds a monstrance identical to the one we are presenting. German work from the early 18th century.
It rests on a hollow, round base decorated with raised leaves between tongue-like ornaments, to which a baluster-shaped stem is attached. The small dome at the top is also decorated with finely crafted tongue-like ornaments.
In very good condition – the topmost section, which was probably once a cross, is missing.
Dimensions: 39 cm high with a base diameter of 18 cm, weight: 900 g.
