Medieval Limoges Reliquary Hunting Doll - 13th Century. Rare bronze reliquary hunting doll with traces of gilding, depicting a figure in a prayerful pose wearing a long tunic. Finely modeled, expressive face and a skullcap hairstyle characteristic of the Gothic period. 10 cm high. Bronze with a beautiful verdigris patina and vestiges of old gilding. Good condition, stable and even patina. Formerly in the collection of Alex Brunet (French collector specializing in medieval art). An authentic piece testifying to medieval piety, mounted on a custom-made bronze stand for elegant presentation. Reliquary dolls are appliqué figures found on medieval reliquary shrines.
